Middleridge Civic Association Board Meeting
December 12th 2001 – Meeting Minutes

Called to order at Vice President Carole Rodero's home at 8PM by President Jack Garber.

Attendees: Jack Garber, President; Carole Rodero, Vice President; Al Obuchowski, Treasurer; John Valenti, Newsletter Editor; Paul Armstrong, Webmaster; Roy Wagner, Directory Editor; Sharon Surratt, Beautification Chair; Olga Drew, Secretary; Diana Hastings.

Old Business:
The minutes were reviewed and corrected as published. The AAA Rainbow rate for Middleridge residents is $51 per quarter until January 1, 2003.

The Treasurer's reports were given and accepted as read. Discussion was held regarding the status of the several accounts.

Pres. Garber received a letter from Braddock District Supervisor Sharon Bulova's office to Middleridge regarding VDOT and our request for traffic calming devices, in particular: stop signs at certain locations.

New Business:
Santa's ride through Middleridge will take place Sun. Dec. 23 and is being coordinated by VP Rodero.

Section Leader / Block Captain Volunteers Thank You event to take place in January plans were discussed.

Past President Diana Hastings helped lead the discussion of the formation of a Committee to handle student volunteer service activities. Possible projects were discussed. The first one to be helping with the entrance holiday decorations.

Decoration Judges have to be selected for this year's Middleridge Holiday Decoration Event. Discussion of $25 gift certificates as the prizes for the winners was held.

Membership: The names of new residents or membership applications received post printing and how they will be disseminated to other Middleridge residents was discussed.

Distribution issues were discussed. How can procedures be improved and simplified for both flyer/newsletter distribution and for the delivery of directories well.

The board agreed to renew Middleridge membership in the Braddock District Council.

Beautification Chair Surratt asked for clarification of the budget for the entrances. Also discussed was new signage for the community.
