The following rates were recently negotiated with AAA and American and are
effective from July 1, 2009 thru June 30, 2010.
AAA – $26 per month ($78 per Quarter) with NO fuel or environmental fees
added. During recent months AAA has added a commodity surcharge of $1.60 per
month and during the past year fuel surcharges ranging from $6.81 to $12.99 per
quarter. If the rate you are currently paying is below $26 per month (including
any commodity or fuel surcharges) your rate will remain the same. If it rises
above $26.00 per month or $78.00 per quarter, you should call 703-818-8222 and
request the Middleridge negotiated rate.
AAA Trash has a special rate for senior citizens of $69.00 with no
fuel or other fees. You will need to contact AAA Trash, identify yourself
as a Middleridge resident, and a senior citizen.
AAA has also introduced the RecycleBank program to encourage customers to
recycle metal, paper, plastic and glass products. Recycled products are weighed
in special containers and customers receive reimbursement in the form of reward
points that can be redeemed at a variety of local businesses. Further

American Rate -
$25.95 per month ($77.85 per Quarter)
with NO fuel or environmental fees. Even though American doesn’t participate in
the RecycleBank program they will provide a
64-gallon single stream
recycling toter free of
charge. They usually charge customers for use of these recycling toters.
American provides for Single
Stream Recycling.
Single Stream Recycling is a new technology that allows participants to place
all of their recyclables into one container. This type of recycling eliminates
the need to separate glass, paper, cardboard, aluminum, steel, etc. into
separate bins; which, in turn eliminates the necessity of multiple collection
